There is only one book that I have read more than once!!!!!!!!! Now I have another one that I will read again!!!!!!!!!! Not because I didn't get it, but because I enjoyed it that much!!!!!! A very GREAT BOOK!!!!!!!!!! A very heart warming book, full of adventure, and of true friend ship!!!!!!!!!!! Well written from the start!!!!!!!!!
An excellent novel. It brings an old American story up to present day....the U.S. government fighting a nation of Native American people. The authors do a great job of developing the characters and making them seem real and believable. The story line unfolds logically and dramatically with numerous insights into the Chiricahua Apache culture and lifestyle. It is obvious that the authors know their subject well and did their research. There is plenty of action, suspense, and drama to keep the reader turning the pages and not wanting to put the book down. If you are looking for a good read, I highly recommend Apache Tears by Gordon Mustain and Stoney Livingston.
I only have one complaint over this excellent book. It was too short; ended too soon ... needs a sequel.
Well developed characters, plus a quickening story line made this a pleasure to read. Recent American history and ancient Native American lore mix in sometimes not immediately understandable ways which still are always interesting and informative. I like action novels ... but I also enjoy learning new thoughts and ideas along an easy and relaxed path. This book is NOT a disappointment in either quest.
I have read Livingston before and enjoyed his works. Apache Tears, though, is in a class by itself.
I suppose it understandable that I highly recommend reading this effort. I hope to read the sequel.
